Broached Commissions is an international project that explores significant moments in Australian history through the design of furniture and objects.
U-P was tasked with creating the Broached Commission brand, starting a long partnership with the design company. The brand mark is derived from the seven-pointed star. We adopted its use as a symbol to embody time (each point represents the seven days of the week) and as an emblem to represent the states and territories of Australia. By tracing the points of the star we created a dynamic framework that could be used to graphically communicate the historic focus of each new commission.
